Wind Transformer

Wind Transformer also known as a wind turbine generator transformer or WTG transformer is a specialized electrical device used to step up the low-voltage power generated by a wind turbine to a medium or high voltage suitable for grid transmission. These units are categorized as "severe duty" components because they must withstand unique stresses that conventional distribution transformers cannot, including constant thermal cycling from variable wind speeds and high-frequency transients from grid switching.
